Aquinas on God’s Rest after Creation in Biblical Thomism Lens

چکیده

In his commentary on the Letter to Hebrews (cap. IV), St. Thomas considers rest of God after work creation (see Gen 2:2), treating it not as a deistic withdrawal Creator, but productive quiescence. According Biblical Thomism, God’s action is something abstract for us, constitutes principle – exemplar Christian action. Therefore this paper will firstly present multiple senses (triplex requies) created beings, then correct understanding during creatio continua, in order reflect what Christian’s “restful” life consists in. Paul urged disciples Christ “to be restful” (ut quieti sitis, cf. 1 Thess 4:11).
